Loahgad: Today and Yesterday
When i was in the forth or fifth standard, my paternal uncle took me to the famous forts of Loahgad and visapur. As a child that was one of the memorable and adventurous trek for me. It was a start my passion towards trekking. The fort i saw before many years was covered with thick jungles and bushes. We ate various fruits like Jungle mangos, various berries etc. The jungle was very thick with less presence of human being. We closely observed presence of Panther, wolves and monkeys with other small animals in that area. It was difficult to find a way from the jungle. Now after more than 18 years i visited Loahgad and Vishpur fort again. Forts were there but the jungle was gone. No big trees, no jungle fruits and no animals. A good cement road is there till the base of Loahgad fort and a rough road for 4*4 vehicle for fort Visapur. I saw many Bungalows of various superstars and rich people, built on the Jungle Land ( i always wonder how they get the permission ?) with Tar or cement roa
