Mandu: Beautiful Place

Mandu : Now a days a famous Hill station but in old days last Fort on the boundaries of Malwa and Nemad. Kings like Raja Bhoj and Parmar dynasty ruled this Fort for many centuries. After the attack of Allaudin Khilji in 11th century in went under many saltanats and under Mughals. The famous story of Bajbahaddar and rani Roopmati is from the same Fort. It is biggest Fort in India with perimeter of 72 kms. Many many old structures, few are in best preserved condition by #MPTourism and hundreds are in waiting to be restored as it is a mammoth task.

Mandu is may be a more beautiful place in winter and in rainy season. Regret that forest office is there but didn't saw any particular good work by forest department. Huge deforestation happened and happening. Good point is beautiful roads. Looks like there is synchronization in MP govt, MP Tourism and ministers. All the roads to tourist attractions are in beautiful condition. Hence do plan a visit to Mandu aka Mandav. Wait for more information about Indore and Ujjain.

Fort Dhodap

  Fort Dhodap from Hatti Village Trek to Fort Dhodap : 10th January 2021    Fort Dhodap is the third highest fort in Maharashtra. (4829 ft ). It is one of the most important fort in Nashik district. It is located at a very strategic location and can keep eye on huge area and neighbouring forts. We started our trek from hatti village side at 10 am around. Humid and hot atmosphere started showing its effect.    First Gate Marathi Inscriptions   There was a big road to climb on the fort which used to call as Rajmarg. The aged people from village used to tell us that through that route elephants used to go on the fort, but now no one is using that road, it is covered by the thick bushes. We started climbing by a new shortcut road which is quite vertical and took good time to reach at the first gate of the fort which is in ruined condition.   Fort Khairai : 7th December 2020 First Trek after Lockdown with old team mates of Vainateya but with new generation excellent team leaders. Fort Khairai. A fort on the boundary of Maratha Empire and Mughals in the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Koli King of Jawahar, Marathas and Mughals had owned it. No actual history available.    It his having destroyed Bastion's and walls. 2 water tanks and 1 well. 2 destroyed canons. It is having strategic important location to keep control on the old trading routes. Beautiful surrounding and views. Peth and Harsul are Kashmir of Maharashtra but with very bad and narrow roads.
