Fort Achala :

Fort Achala : (4040 feet. Base village Pimpri Anchala). A rough forest road takes us at the base of the fort. Its semi complete road and once done, max forest will be gone as saw huge tree cutting on the way to the fort.
Fort Achala is an old fort and was mainly used as a watch station. In the time of Chh. Shivaji maharaj it was won by Maratha army and was under Maratha rule till the nearest biggest fort Ahiwantgad got won by Mughals in 1676.
It again came under Maratha power in 1754 till won by the British in 1818. The details show it must a fort from Satvahan time. 7 to 8 destroyed houses , 9 water tanks with 3 tanks having water and very few other ruins can be seen on it.
Toulya, Hatgad, Ahiwant, Wani, were visible today from it. On the way to trek we saw temple in Ahiwantwadi which is having very old stone pillers. When asked people told us that they got it from another village which is behind the mountian.

Fort Dhodap

  Fort Dhodap from Hatti Village Trek to Fort Dhodap : 10th January 2021    Fort Dhodap is the third highest fort in Maharashtra. (4829 ft ). It is one of the most important fort in Nashik district. It is located at a very strategic location and can keep eye on huge area and neighbouring forts. We started our trek from hatti village side at 10 am around. Humid and hot atmosphere started showing its effect.    First Gate Marathi Inscriptions   There was a big road to climb on the fort which used to call as Rajmarg. The aged people from village used to tell us that through that route elephants used to go on the fort, but now no one is using that road, it is covered by the thick bushes. We started climbing by a new shortcut road which is quite vertical and took good time to reach at the first gate of the fort which is in ruined condition.   Fort Khairai : 7th December 2020 First Trek after Lockdown with old team mates of Vainateya but with new generation excellent team leaders. Fort Khairai. A fort on the boundary of Maratha Empire and Mughals in the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Koli King of Jawahar, Marathas and Mughals had owned it. No actual history available.    It his having destroyed Bastion's and walls. 2 water tanks and 1 well. 2 destroyed canons. It is having strategic important location to keep control on the old trading routes. Beautiful surrounding and views. Peth and Harsul are Kashmir of Maharashtra but with very bad and narrow roads.
